Agent Skills & AI Coding Assistants

NovaPod is designed from the ground up for the agentic era. Using our standard Model Context Protocol (MCP) server or pre-built Agent Skills, AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex can autonomously search the live hardware orderbook, provision compute instances, execute training jobs, and collect logs.

1. Configuring Cursor MCP Server

Add NovaPod to your Cursor IDE MCP configuration:

  1. Open Cursor Settings -> Features -> MCP.
  2. Click + Add New MCP Server.
  3. Configure the following:
    • Name: novapod
    • Type: command
    • Command: npx -y @novapod/mcp-server
    • Environment Variables:
      {
      "NOVAPOD_API_KEY": "np_live_your_secret_key"
      }
  4. Now, in Cursor Composer or Chat, you can simply ask:

    "Find the cheapest 80GB GPU currently online and spin up a vLLM container for Llama-3-8B." Cursor will query the live marketplace, launch the pod, and provide you the active endpoint URL.

2. Using Claude Code

Install the official Claude Code skill:

np agent install-skill claude-code

This registers commands like /novapod launch and /novapod status directly into your Claude Code developer sessions.

3. Autonomous Execution Safety

NovaPod includes guardrails for autonomous agent execution:

  • Max Hourly Burn Limit: Enforce a strict dollar cap per instance (e.g. --max-rate 2.50) so agents cannot accidentally launch enterprise clusters beyond budget.
  • Auto-Termination Timer: Automatically destroy instances if idle for more than N minutes (e.g. --idle-timeout 30m).
